"I'll deal with you little apes later. Right now I got bigger heads to fry!"

- Velma in Wrath of the Spider Queen

Velma Green the Spider Queen is the secondary antagonist in the 2007 TV film Billy & Mandy: Wrath of the Spider Queen. She was an arachnoid having moved from The Spider Planet in Galaxy Omega 9 during her and Grim's childhood.

In SUASBRX[]

Velma was renamed to Spidax and was given a far more feral design in Super Ultra All-Stars Battle Royale X in order to differentiate her from Rachnera Arachnera.

Bio[]

The predator hides in the shadows, spinning nightmarish traps for its prey. The entire forest is its hunting ground.

Special Powers[]

Arachnoid Physiology:

  • Spider Queen's Song: Beautiful, soft, non-lyrical songs and melodies that Velma uses to musically summon and attract other spiders to her; its hypnotic sounds are strong enough to call spiders from all across the globe. She can control them telepathically via their minds or simply telekinetically control their motor functions.
  • Organic Webbing: Spidax can shoot strands of silk to cocoon her victims and can even shoot from from afar. If the web cocoons her victims, they are unable to move and stuck in the cocoon.
  • Claws & Stingers: Spidax possesses razor sharp claws that, coupled with her great strength, were able to cut most conventional materials including flesh, bone, stone, and some types of metals. At the end of her abdomen she also has a yellow stinger that is used to paralyze her cocooned victims.

Boss Intro[]

Descends from a strand of web before noticing the player and baring her fangs.

Moveset[]

Move Description
Thrust Attack

(突き攻撃)

Spidax does a flurry of stabs with her legs, inflicting extremely heavy damage if all blows land (nearly 100% on Intense). The last hit alone has decent knockback, and on Very Hard (Intense in Boss Battles) most hits landing can lead to a KO. It is possible to DI out of it by approaching towards her and jumping above. Some characters can crouch under this move.
Crab Walk

(カニ歩き)

Spidax scuttles around her boss arena. Contact does minor damage (up to 18%) and very weak knockback (only KOing from center stage over 700%). It isn't very well telegraphed (Spidax's eyes glow), but easily avoided by staying away or jumping over her.
String Shot (ストリングショット) Spidax casts an web that homes in on the player until it goes off-screen. On hit, it traps the player and deals damage.
Web Sling (ウェブスリング) Spidax shoots out a large web forwards which lingers for a moment and encases opponents in pods if touched. At low health, she shoots three webs.
Baby Spider Attack (子グモ攻撃 Ko-gumo Kōgeki) Spidax deploys four miniature spiders from her abdomen. They crawl along the floor and up the walls.
Rush Attack

(突進攻撃)

Spidax hops slightly before rapidly charging at the player and off-screen. This attack is very powerful, dealing up to 54% and high knockback. It can KO at very low percentages, especially if the player is close to the side blast lines. Jumping over Spidax is advised over other methods of avoiding it.

Upon defeat, Spidax screeches and attempts to escape by firing a web upwards and climbing it, but it gets snapped in half and she falls into the background, twitching.
