"As long as the Dragon's Blade blazes darkly in my hand, I must fight on... No matter what the cost! "
-The Duke
The Duke was a distant ancestor of the Loud family, and the former (and final for 400 years) Duke of Loch Loud. He is available as DLC for Ultimate Nickelodeon Brawl Stars X. According to Angus, he was a stout-hearted ruler whose name was known for his fair face and noble deeds. He is shown to be quite humble in recognizing the inner qualities of other people, as he recognizes Angus as a worthy successor as the Duke of Loch Loud.
Ultimate Nickelodeon Brawl Stars X[]
The Duke appears as a playable character in Ultimate Nickelodeon Brawl Stars X. He is the only character from The Loud House.
Bio[]
Though his flesh has festered, time hasn't stripped this bare-boned brawler of his sword skills. A brutal blow to the cranium looks to have been what sealed the fate of this once-proud paladin. In his youth, he was once a handsome young chevalier whose fair face set hearts aflutter in his castle.
Special Powers[]
Spectral Physiology: Unlike other ghosts who originate from the Ghost Zone (see entries on Danny Phantom, Ember, Technus and Skulker), the Duke's powers originates from the mystical energies Loch Loud possesses, making certain attributes of his abilities slightly different:
- Invisibility: The Duke can remain invisible to the living, but he could also appear as a light blue light that shines faintly.
- Material Attachment: The Duke often latches his essence to his armor-wearing corpse in order to proficiently wield his weapons: the Dragon Blade and the Paladin's Shield.
- Possession: The Duke can enter and take possession of the bodies of living beings. However, the Duke's ability to possess people isn't impossible to overcome. If his subject has a strong mental fortitude, they can kick him out of their body.
- Spiritual Ward Invulerability: Unlike other ghosts, The Duke is not vulnerable to spirit wards, magical spells, incantations, pure minerals such as iron and salt, and certain items/weapons that are built specifically to interact with spirits, possibly due to to the mystical properties of the Dragon Blade keeping his corpse (and his spirit) alive.
Skillset[]
- Expert Swordsman: In life, The Duke was a master of bladed weapons, most notably all forms of the sword. He is most proficient when wielding the Dragon Sword in tandem with the Paladin's Shield.
- Expert Horseman: The Duke is an expert horseman and can even ride mythical creatures (such as dragons, centaurs or gryphons) with ease.
- Skilled Dragonologist: The Duke is one of the top authorities on the study of dragons due to centuries of studying them.
Hyper Combos[]
- Wyvern Strike: The Duke leaps forward, sword in both hands, and unleashes three slashes, with the final downward swing knocking the opponent into a ground-bounce. The first hit is a middle attack that cannot be blocked if the opponent is crouching.
- Flying Dragon Slash: The Duke sends out an electric shockwave from the Dragon Blade that can also stop basic projectiles. Through the use of partner assists, this can easily set up for resets.
- Blade Of The Loch: The Duke unleashes a powerful X-shaped lightning-infused slash that slices apart an enemy. He gains Super Armor during the whole move, allowing him to shrug off non-throws/Hyper Combos. However, he will be knocked to the ground in a hard knockdown, making it impossible to combo off of.
- Dragonic Sword Of The Duke: The Duke readies himself, before flourishing his sword before performing an upward slash, knocking opponents upward. This move is a solid combo ender. It can absorb any single-hit projectiles, giving the Duke a tool against zoners.
