"The Nicktoons are back, and SPOOKIER than ever!”
-The game's tagline
Monster High: Nicktoons' Monster Madness is a fanmade installment of the Nicktoons Unite! series. It's an action-adventure multiplayer game featuring the characters of of Monster High crossing over with animated shows from Nickelodeon.
Premise[]
This world is a nexus between the freaky and the fabulous.
It is this world where an eldritch threat was unleashed...and all hell broke loose.
From New York to the depths of Bikini Bottom, evil spread like wildfire.
It will take two factions of mighty champions to put an end to this madness...
Gameplay[]
MHN is a 3D platformer where the player controls one of four characters at a time. Players pick a single character to control as well as a second character that may be controlled by either a CPU or a second human player if playing online.
Basics[]
Offensively, the characters have access to basic attacks and their own special skills. For basic attacks, all characters have Normal Attacks used to string basic combos up to a maximum of five steps ending in a heavy-hitting finisher, although this number varies per-character. They also have a Powerful Attack used to knock opponents away or deliver specific finishers from Normal Attack combos, and a slow but unstoppable Takedown Attack unleashed when Powerful Attack is held, delivering a red-flashing strike that crumples targets and leaves them open to follow-up attacks.
Special skills usually take the form of unique, powerful abilities such as larger scale attacks, projectiles, traps, etc. and inflict greater damage to opponents, but can also prepare/provide a number of advantages and bonuses when used. All special skills are subject to cooldowns during which a character cannot perform them again, though various buffs can increase cooldown speed. Many characters have one skill they can occasionally perform that has notably more potent effects or damage compared to others, but also a greater cooldown. Certain skills have cooldown gauges that also serve to display secondary elements, such as how many times a skill can be used before being placed on cooldown, and the length of an effect or enhanced state.
Defensively speaking, a player can either put up a guard that blocks attacks from the front to greatly reduce the damage taken and potentially counter, or dodge in any cardinal direction or in relation to a lock-on target with a fast but short Quickstep. Beyond evasion, Quickstepping may also be used to cancel out of attacks or certain skills in order to extend ground combos or interrupt an unsafe maneuver.
Jimmy's dog Goddard can be found in all levels to upgrade the ability tree for each character, and each playable character levels up using XP earned from battles and missions, up to Lv. 50. Characters are originally available within the game with an incomplete set of techniques and lowered stats. These parameters can be unlocked by fighting with them and using the point rewards gained from levels to unlock a technique or improve the character's various stats in the tree. Stats such as health and attack strength automatically grow upon a character leveling up and require no points.
Every character also has access to Spook Synergy Attacks, causing a certain pair of characters to pose before rushing forward, cloaked in a red aura. If the charging character successfully connects with an opponent, a special cinematic joint attack will initiate, dealing massive damage to the target enemy.

Levels[]
Each level is split in fours: Rescue Mission, Mini Boss, Horror Road and Monster Boss. Rescue Mission is where you explore the stage to fix the setting and save citizens from the Abominations by solving puzzles and killing enemies with the heroes' different quirks. The Mid-Boss is the first big fight of the level where you fight a mini boss, enemies stronger than most regular enemies but weaker than Monster Bosses. The Horror Road is where you get through a path of obstacles and enemies in a scary atmosphere, and finally the Monster Boss, where you fight a boss character, a distinguished enemy that is usually very strong in comparison to others. Monster Bosses come in many shapes and sizes, but they all have the following things in common:
- They are fought in a distinctive area, which cannot be left until the boss is defeated or the player(s) lose the fight.
- They typically take many hits to defeat, and their health bar is usually displayed to the player(s) during the fight. However, Fright Knight is the only boss in-game which lacks a health bar.
Main Storyline[]
Prologue: A Horrible Night to Have a Curse[]
It was just another abnormal school day at Monster High. Clawdeen, Draculaura and Frankie Stein sharpen their quirks in the court as the tutorial for the game. Lately - one by one - they noticed strange things happening around the school. Interrupted, they met a mysterious scale-covered girl from outside named Kathryn, who says that her dad is coming and is just preparing for his arrival, but she's missing something important. The Boo Crew couldn't see what kind of monster she is, but if her presence inside the school makes it tense, they saw something bad is happening. They attempt to turn to Headmistress Bloodgood for answers, but Kathryn sent them deep into the catacombs where no one can hear them scream.
The Boo Crew Meets the Nicktoons[]
Frankie and Clawdeen wake up in the catacombs, noticing they were separated from Draculaura. Just when they didn't know what's happening, a rift opened and alarmed them to hide. It was the crossover veterans SpongeBob SquarePants and Danny Phantom, believing this is the right place to find "the cause". The girls didn't know if they're nice to monsters, but the caverns crumbles and they didn't hesitate to save the boys from falling boulders. After some introductions, the boys say that they're from other dimensions and they're in danger by a threat from their home. They could be describing Kathryn because Monster High may be in danger. All four make a deal to protect their school and friends, and in return, help them learn about Kathryn, what her Scare-itage is form, and what her intentions are.
First, they had to escape from the catacombs and climb up to the school. As they got up to the surface, they were confronted by Abominations, big and small minions of the no-good monster. Draculaura is seen fighting the beasties with her witchcraft, and the gang appeared as reinforcements. They see that the school is in peril, with the school breaking apart and their friends being overwhelmed by the fodders. So, the team don't hesitate to separate the good monsters from the evil monsters. While they've rescued boos like Torelai Stripe, Lagoona Blue, Deuce Gorgon and Cleo De Nile, the girls were introduced to the other Nicktoons summoned here, XJ-9 A.K.A. Jenny Wakeman, Timmy Turner and Jimmy Neutron.
The principal Headmistress Bloodgood were captured by Kathyrn, who wanted something from her hidden in Monster High. She was even more frustrated when she sees that the Boo Crew escaped the Catacombs intact. Kathryn reveals her form with tentacles in place of her hair and gown, large claws on her hands, and long narrow wings.
The Boo Crew and the Nicktoons looked up the book about the Eldritch and found Kathryn's father: Cthulhu. His daughter inherited her father's control over Madness Magic, a pool of power that lets her warp reality and sends lesser beings into insanity. The amulet she found was the Lovecraft Oculus, a magic relic made by her father that allows her to travel to other dimensions - the Nicktoons' homes - to conquer.

As the heroes of both worlds work together to defeat Kathryn's forces, another force makes his move. Administrator Van Hellscream has been left in the dark ever since he was petrified 12 years ago. Now a man out of time, Hellscream seeks to stake his claim in an era that doesn't even know his name. And Kathryn's invasion of worlds might be the key.
Lord Stoker: Rightful Ruler[]
Lord Stoker has always sought power that he can never attain. Years of banishment has given him time to plot his revenge upon monster society. With the incursion between two worlds and the lack of a vampire queen to stop him, Stoker might just finally have his chance to subjugate monsterkind to his will.
Only time will tell....
DLC Pack 2: Bring On the Bad Guys[]
The second DLC pack contains minor villains from various Nickelodeon franchises. There are only two characters in this pack instead of three.
Princess Mandie: Galactic Conquest[]

Elastic Waistband: Elastic Fantastic![]
The stretchiest superhero of the IJLSA, the Elastic Waistband returns, as one of Dark Mark's recruits to build a new group of Power Pals. His flexible fighting style and experience with prior super hero teams will prove useful in the fights to come...
Man-Artica: Frosted Over[]
In Kathryn's mad bid to resurrect her father, many worlds were destroyed in the process. One of these worlds included Galaxy Hills. Thirsting for revenge, Man-Artica reinvented himself as a darker hero. What fate shall he choose? Will it be vengeance? Mercy? The gears of Fate continue to toy with him...
DLC Pack 4: Unbound Heroism[]
The fourth DLC pack contains more superheroes from Nickelodeon shows.
Catman: Fist of Nyanlathotep[]
The mysterious new heir to the late Adam West's fortune, the new Catman is inexplicably connected to the eldritch deity Nyanlathotep. With the incursion of other eldritch forces currently happening, it is unclear what role Nyanlathotep plays in the greater order of things, but her champion seems to speak for himself....
Really Really Big Man: Really Bigger[]
Really Really Big Man, proud defender of justice, has always fought the good fight. While he had always worked alone in his quest for justice, the incursion finds him battling alongside other champions as they battle with one goal – battling back Cthulu's forces.
Ace Savvy: Fully Decked[]
The card-carrying vigilante from the Loud House has returned...with an upgrade! Dark Mark has provided him with a souped-up deck of tarot cards instead of his poker cards, giving him a mystic edge which will unperdictably turn the tides of battle!

Even though this is a crossover game I can guarantee that it will be fun."
