Knuckle Joe is an enemy in the Kirby series. Knuckle Joe appears as a humanoid figure with spiky blonde hair, a face closely resembling Kirby's, a bandana around his head, and a pair of pointy ears. Knuckle Joe is a fairly notable character in the Kirby series, receiving a reoccurring character role in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! and appearing as an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and subsequent Super Smash Bros. titles.

In SUASBRX[]

Knuckle Joe appears as a playable character in this game.

Bio[]

A martial artist known for amazing attacks like the Vulcan Jab. With his bandana, he looks and fights the part of a Muay Thai boxer. When Kirby copies Knuckle Joe, he gains the fighting techniques of a hand-to-hand-combat expert.

Special Powers[]

  • Superhuman Physical Characteristics
  • Small Size (Comparable to Kirby, whose 20 cm/8 inches tall. Added to his flexibility, he can dodge certain attacks by crouching if judged convenient)
  • Martial Arts
  • Energy Manipulation & Projection (Utilizes energy to increase the range of his attacks)
  • Resistance to Cosmic Radiation (Can survive in space)

Hyper Combos[]

  • Smash Punch: Knuckle Joe sets himself in a motionless stance for a second and delivers an upward arm lash to the opponent which knocks them into the air. As they fall back down, he firmly plants his forward foot and delivers a devastating upward punch with explosive force at the haplessly falling opponent.
  • Hyper Vulcan Jab: Knuckle Joe unleashes flurry of punches, culminating with a short-straight punch that has very high base knockback. Like with the original Vulcan Jab, the nature of the move sliding forward with hitboxes active makes it an easy move to punish if carelessly used, especially via frame disadvantage on block.
  • Giga Force Blast: Knuckle Joe gathers a mass of energy in his hands and fires it at the opponent. Joe reels slightly after the attack, possibly in pain from firing it. If a fully charged Giga Force Blast hits the opponent at point-blank range, the camera angle will shift, and the attack will do more damage.
  • Rising Break: A jumping, right-handed corkscrew uppercut, followed immediately by a left-handed uppercut. The first uppercut hits multiple times, whereas the second uppercut hits once and has extremely high knockback. It also grants 3 frames of intangibility on startup, while the grounded version covers a decent amount of vertical distance.
